time flies, it is the starting of October now. life has been rather repetitive doing the same thing week after weeks. guess life in MEC is not that bad after all, there are always two sides to a coin.
looking around just to find out that actually i have not been accomplishing much this year. at the age of 23 and the fact that i'm still in ns just makes me remember of the bad decisions i have made in the past. it is the past and i know i should not make the same mistakes i did.
many a times, the answer we are trying to find all along lies deep in our heart. the answers to our question about our life, purpose, ourselves. like what my friend said: "everything happen for a reason. you either understand now or in time to come". sometimes adversity and setback may hinder us from getting what we want. but this shouldn't stop us from getting what we always wanted. we should not feel discourage or disheartened, i mean it is perfectly fine to feel that way, after all we are human beings.
what i meant was to "detached" from those feelings and emotions and come up even more triumphantly. no use living behind the shade of those feelings and emotions, it won't bring you anywhere nor it will make you feel any better.
i came up with this quote when i'm feeling terrible about my life the other time.
"When upward mobility (height) seems impossible during this period of your life, go for inward mobility (depth), be a better person with improved character, personality and skills, whatever it takes.
The higher you go, the deeper you must go too".
it may sounds cliche but i found comfort and definitely feel much better than before when i confide in it. when you feel that you are not progressing in life, maybe because of the current situation you are in or some other reasons. when you feel that life are as stagnant as they have never moved before or there are simply no excitement or expectation about life itself. when upward mobility seems impossible, you are stuck at square one again and again.
change the approach. go for courses, take up some sports or arts lesson, learn new skills, pick up an instrument, go for some self improvement or enhancer course, excel in what you are good at, travel, just like the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" where the female lead take a year long break from her work to go to Italy to enjoy good food, India to find spiritual enlightenment, to Bali to find love.
just when she experience a divorce, not progressing at work nor in her life, everything is in a mess, not to her favor. she aims to let go of everything on hand, go for a long trip and the main purpose is to pull herself back, find back herself.
we may not be as dramatic as in the movies, but the logic applies. change the approach and start working on yourself, "a happy you is the greatest present you can give to yourself or at least to the people closers to you".
